This six-week workshop addresses the technical skills needed to accurately represent the portrait. Students will become familiar with techniques on how to accurately represent the features of the face, and also how to accurately lay out the proportions of the face when drawing from life. Each class will begin with a lecture and demonstration of a specific feature of the face and how to spot variations of the feature due to age or genetic variations of the subject. Students will learn how to draw each others' faces and their own face by looking in a mirror. Students will come away with an increased understanding of how to use drawing tools and a greater passion for portrait drawing.
